Ok. Ok. ummm. Ok. All right, so for a second there I wanted to be speechless, but nobody reads speechless. Basically, from what I got. Hank Williams Jr. the musician that I know only as the Monday Night Football guy has been let go because he stated that Obama and John Boehner(....boner...ha..) together would be the same as Hitler playing golf with the Israeli Prime minister. He made a reference and compared two people. I feel like this is getting amazingly blown out of proportion. He made a comparison, he didn't say Barack Obama was Adolf Hitler. Why is this such a fuss. This guy is Monday Night Football. Nothing gets me more pumped up then this one song. I get it, ESPN doesn't want to be connected to someone with controversial ideas, but he never really did anything. ESPN, your being way too protective here. No one is going to boycott MNF because of this stupid passing comment. Its time to grow up ESPN. There are no outside politics in football. No one is going to stop watching because the guy who gets you pumped up for the game has an opinion. Worst off, this guy did nothing. Michael Vick murdered so many dogs, yet at the end of the day, you're still gonna broadcast his game. This is just ridiculousness, I just do not understand.

Where to go from here...The Fooch's 10 points about tonight's game and what's left of post season.

Ok. So suffice it to say I am in no way happy about the way tonight turned out. Yankees started the game doing what they do to Ace pitchers. We came in swinging, scoring runs, and reminding the Tigers who they are dealing with. One ill-advised Facebook status about how Verlander is an overrated AAA pitcher and how we were tearing him apart, and 11 strikeouts later, the Yankees are now down 2 games to 1 in the ALDS. No need to recap the stupidity, crassness, and immaturity of my words, its what I do. I would like to however cover a few things I felt about the game tonight, if for anything to make me feel better. (as seen on my twitter)

1. Screw Valverde. there is no single relief pitcher I hate more than him. (will be revisited)

2. Verlander is not a human being he is megaman incarnate, a straight cannon for an arm. He deserved everything he got tonight, I felt like some of the ump's calls were off, but it's hard to tell a strike when the ball is consistently hitting the plate at 100 mph. If I were umping tonight, or even catching, I would probably spend the majority of that game in the fetal position, sucking on my thumb. 

3. To our credit we put up 4 on him so I am not at all worried, any other pitcher woulda been smoked, nuff said. 

4. That ump made ridiculous calls on both sides. Carsten was throwing heat right down the middle early, and catching corners like no one's business. I felt the ump let some clear strikes go as balls, and that's why C.C. walked so many tonight. That also frustrated him into making some of those pitches that lead to runs. That's my view on that, I would like to clarify, I am also not standing behind the plate I am sitting on my couch at home, going by the little blue box on the screen. There's a reason why he's behind the plate and I am not. 

5.This whole game came down to that one pitch against Young. Can't really hate on Soriano, other than that one pitch he was pretty lights out. 

6. This is not an excuse, but some of those deep fly balls to right by the Yankees late in the game would have been home runs back home. It's not an excuse whatsoever. It's not why we lost, you have to play the park your in. All I am saying is in the Bronx this would have been a much different game. 

7. Winning isn't something that happens, its a habit. Winners aren't struck by luck, they win again and again, they come up big in situations that require them. With that said, Jorge is a proven winner. With 5 rings he has proven he can do it again and again. This season he has seen his share of criticisms and was even questionable making the post season roster. However, with the way hes been playing this ALDS, Jorge has proven who he is, and his worth to the team. Jorge is a winner and is showing it. Come on who thought he would ever hit a triple? 

8.Screw Valverde, Verlander won that game.

Honestly, this guy has not been as productive as he looks. He has the numbers and in the end that is what matters. However, he is walking an increasingly tightening rope. He is literally one hit away each night from this being a Yankee sweep. At the rate he's going he is one mistake away from wearing a big pinstriped dunce cap. The Yankee line up is too powerful for him to be making the mistakes he has. He cannot keep up at the rate he is going, he's liable to make that one slip up, and then we'll be dancing around the diamond.

9. Big performances from the lesser bats, if there is such a thing in the Yankee lineup, Detroit is in for a hurting once we get the chance to showcase our big bats, (Cano, Texiera, Granderson.) 

10. "Winners want the ball when the game is on the line"- Gene Hackman, The Replacements. A.J. Burnett does not have the best history but the Yankees picked him up, but more importantly kept him on the roster for the playoffs for one important reason,  all though we have not seen it much as of late, not since...2009 postseason? When he stepped up big and shut down the Phillies? I am not saying he was perfect, but he did his job. The ball is in A.J.'s hands now, and so is the season. I am completely calm. I acknowledge that A.J is far from perfect, but winning is not about being it's about being clutch.

These are my points. In the end, I think the Yankees should not fear the Tigers next game. We are simply too good from an offensive perspective. Even if A.J. goes up and gives them 6 runs, we should score 12. It's that simple. Look for the series to come back to New York. 

At the very least....at least...we're not....Boston.
