Hamden, Conn. (WTNH) - A man free climbing at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden had to be rescued.
Crews were called to the scene around 5:15pm. 19-year old Quinnipiac University student Reid Engwall got stuck in the quarry area after slipping down a rock face.
"He got stuck and he couldn't find any cracks to stand on," said hiker Ryan McRobbie.
A team of firefighters wasted no time getting geared up. One rescuer rappelled over the side and put a harness and a helmet on Engwall before moving him to solid ground.
Engwall suffered just a minor injury to his wrist.
Ok..wow...i need to collect myself on this one. I've climbed that mountain at least a hundred times and never once have i ever slipped. I could climb that mountain with my eyes closed. So to see that this dumb ass fell while climbing it just blows my mind. What a Jack ass! This kid is a menace, he should be kicked out of school for this, never mind the ticket he should be getting for all of the rescue bills. He had to be hyped up on some hippie psyco-hallucinogenic drug. Maybe he followed the the white rabbit down the bunny hole. how did that work out. All in all i hope he is ok, so i can kick his ass!
